Getting to Duck Valley

From Idaho

To get to the Duck Valley Indian Reservation from the Boise area, go east on Interstate 84 until the first Mountain Home exit and take this.  Go through Mountain Home and take a left onto Idaho State Highway 51 from Airbase Road.  Duck Valley is approximately 90 miles from Mountain Home.

 

 From Nevada

Take exit 301 in Elko, NV -If you coming from Reno direction take a left on Mtn. City/NV-225 and if you coming from Wendover, Nv direction take a right on Mtn.City/NV-225. Follow NV-225 for 96 miles to reach the Duck Valley Indian Reservation.

Getting to Mountain View, Sheep Creek or Lake Billy Shaw

The three reservoirs of the Duck Valley Indian Reservation are Mountain View, Lake Billy Shaw, and Sheep Creek.  Mountain View is the only reservoir on the Idaho side and access to the reservoir is at Idaho mile marker 2 and is to the west.  To get to Lake Billy Shaw and Sheep Creek travel southbound through Owyhee and turn west about .2 miles south of Owyhee onto a paved road.  Follow this road for 3 miles until a fork and go straight for Lake Billy Shaw or follow the curve to the left for Sheep Creek Reservoir.

Mountain View-Electrical Outlets

Mountain View Reservoir camping differs from the other two reservoirs in the fact that there is electrical power and water spigots.  Please see the map below to see the electrical site locations.  Permits for these sites must be purchased through "Our Store" only (on the DVIR) phone # 775-757-3301.
